As part of the #SummerofROO Instagram Challenge, co-hosted by Susie of @longrunergy and I, we are asking participants to share a daily ritual that nourishes, grounds, and reinvigorates your spirit. Green smoothies revive my spirit on a daily basis. As a young girl, I could have never imagined that I would crave a green drink, but, my taste buds have turned and a day does not feel complete without my green smoothie-fix.
One of my favorite go-to plant-based Cambridge restaurants is Life Alive, which has inspired many ROO recipes. At Life Alive, their “classic” green smoothie is called the Harvest Alive, which I have remade as the “Harvest Revive.” It is filling with the thick and creamy consistency of the avocado, chia seeds, and dates, yet has the green zing from lemon juice and spinach.
I highly recommend visiting Life Alive if you are in the Boston area (they also have locations in Lowell and Salem)! Check out ROO’s other Life Alive recreations, including, the Shakti Bowl, the Mystic Mountain Mama Salad, the Coconut Revive Smoothie, and the Helpful Healer Bowl.
